there is a little key
To a little door
Where a little girl hides
And waits for something more.

She's been waiting a long long time
Been waiting for someone
to hold and comfort her
And bring her the warmth of the sun.

Sometimes the curious would take a peek
Behind the little door
And hope replaced longing
That made her spirit soar.

But something always happened
And the curious would leave
So the little girl would hide again
Where her heart could grieve.

Now no one ever comes
To ease her loneliness
Her pain flows in silent tears
The secret kept in darkness.

So she hides away deep inside
And waits when she'll be free
The door her heart, the key is love
The little girl is me.
